Biography

Svetozar Bogdanoski, is born in Macedonia in the year 1953.
Since his early years he was a professional painter and sculptor,
an experience and knowledge he will later transmit to the making of violins.
Together with his team, in the worm atmosphere of his atelier,
he constantly explores and revives the tone of the violins, its emission ,
its capacity and its character,  by establishing a perfect harmony between
the construction and the quality of the wood , which originates from
the Bosnian mountains.As an artist with an exquisite taste,
he puts his trust in his experiences, tradition,
intuition and imagination. The vast knowledge he has in the art
of the painting as well as the knowledge of the oldest technology for
elaborating resins, varnishes and paints, is thoroughly used by him
in  the varnish ground  elaboration that best emphasizes the texture
of the wood, and   at the same time serves as a great base on which an optically vivid alizarin shaded varnish, is put, All of the above furthermore contributes to the final beauty of the instrument.In 2008, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Tone by the Violin Society of America, which hosts one of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world.Artists share the opinion thatthe tone of his violins and violas spreads out with special kind of warmth that equally charms both soloist and orchestra musicians. Many violinists, young violin students as well as those playing in some of the world renowned orchestras, appreciate the easiness they feel in the playing on his instruments. Among the instruments in his atelier one can find not only new looking instruments that stand out with their freshness and brilliance of colour and varnish, but also copies of some of the most famous Italian violins made byGuarneri, Stradivari and Bergonzi.
